Have you ever heard about the Fes desert tours??

Dreaming of the Fes desert tours?

With the population of 1.1 million, Fes is the second largest city of Morocco. It was founded by Idris I in 789, and is considered as a great city of high Islamic civilization. It was the capital city of Morocco until 1925. Now, Fes is the capital of the Fès-Meknès region. It is contained of two medina quarters, and the larger one, more specifically Fes el Bali is considered as a World Heritage Site, furthermore the world’s largest car-free urban zone. This ancient city is commonly compared to the city of Jerusalem because of the ancient walls. Fes is also known for being the home of the first university, the world’s oldest university Qarawiyyin (established in 859).

Even though Fes has many tours to offer, the trip to medina is the most valued and required tour, so I highly recommend you to experience it. You can explore this adventure of simply losing yourself in the complex of the medina, finding your way out by talking to people or using some sort of map. The other way is much more advanced, and it includes having a guided trip. The private Fes excursions are the ones who will bring you as close as possible for discovering the real Fes, not only the hustle and bustle of the various markets, but the actual city features.

What you can SEE in Fes

The Fes experience starts from the moment you get out from the door. Everything you can see starts from the streets and simply going out will wake the traveler’s spirit up.

In the middle of the maze-like Medina, there are colorful leather-dying pits. The problem is, you cannot get there to see the tanneries by yourself, moreover is dangerous and you could be harmed. You must have a guide, or someone to get you in. However, the Fes Medina is an incredible place. Made up of beautiful historical buildings, dating back to medieval times, Medina’s well-kept buildings include mosques, palaces, fountains and residential homes. These old buildings are surrounded by eight kilometers of fortified walls that were built in an attempt to keep invaders out of the city. The most amazing and extraordinary part is that the visitors now get an opportunity to experience how people lived in the 9th century. Moreover they get the chance to live in the houses and shops built close together along the tangled streets. The visits of these Fes buildings are followed by staff, taking care of all of the needs a visitor has, as well for the maintenance of these heritage constructions. In the stay of the Medina maze, you can choose from villas, traditional riad houses, antique royal suites and small palaces. So, instead of the traditional hotel experience, you can have the full-package with the Fes desert tours and excursions, having the most unique experience of your lifetime, a romantic, secret getaway to the Medina.
